Here is a video explaining how we have been affected and what we hope to accomplish with our rally.
Hello, Small Businesses, Couples, Wedding, and Event Industry Friends!
Rally update. We have decided to move forward with the Rally on December 3, 2020. The rally will be from 11:45 AM to 3 PM and will take place on Francis Street along the sidewalk facing the Vets & Renaissance Hotel. I have attached a picture of the area I am referring to.
This was not a simple decision to make. We reviewed all the data that was submitted and 75% of the feedback wanted some type of Rally. We know we will be in a pause during the time of the rally, and we understand everyone's concern. That's why we have put extra procedures into place to keep everyone safe while fighting to be heard for our industry (which is long overdue!)
Please RSVP, indicating if you are joining in person or will be watching from Facebook Live.
Here's what we are doing for safety:
MASKS WILL BE MANDATORY!!!. We will have extra masks on hand if needed and a sanitizer station
We will take the first 75 people in person and will spread them out by 12 feet apart. Six feet between you and another attendee will be a sign or cardboard cutout for businesses that cannot make it or are watching virtually.
There will be a QR code to register and there will be a QR code sent the same day confirming information both for contract tracing and the Covid questionnaire.
You can park your vehicle either on the street or in the PVD mall parking garage. Please plan to arrive between 11 AM and 11:30 AM and check in with registration upon arrival. You will be given a facemask, speaking points, and an assigned spot. This will be your spot for the duration of the rally.
No physical touching, fist, or elbow bumps, we need to keep our distance.
The Rally will have pre-recorded speaking videos that you can submit. We suggest 1-2 Minutes and recorded horizontally. These videos can consist of the impact this has taken on your business, what you need for funding, or solutions on how to have successful 2021 seasons. This is not a complaint session, or how much you hate the governor/government or political in any way. This is about the emotional, physical impact their decisions have had on you and your business. Please submit them to us by December 1st at 5 PM. We will play them throughout the rally. This is open to anyone in the Coalition, regardless if you will attend in person or via Facebook Live. You can submit your video clip here.
Speakers will include:
11:45 am Luke to announce and introduce everyone :
11:50-12:00 pm - Lt. Governor Daniel McKee - Kicks off Rally
12:05-12:10 pm - Faith Dugan, Faith Dugan Photography - How it affects our couples - “Life Events”
12:50-12:55 pm - Ali Butler - Ali Lomazzo Beauty - Having to downsize due to lost revenue
Erica Trombetti - Infinite Events - Our next steps**
We have invited all media to hear our voice, and since many of them will be across the street for the press conference, we should have plenty on hand. This rally will focus on specific funding to our industry and increase funding all around, including the release of the Cares Act Funds.
Please wear black. Our custom facemasks are purple with gold lettering. You are also allowed to bring signage, but please be appropriate. We have suggested ideas and hashtags and we need to be clear on our goal. Our hashtags are below. Data is perfect for signage! Bold and bright letters! We will have some available onsite as well. #SaveOurIndustryRI #WorkUsOrFundUs #Celebrate2021Safely
If you will not be present, we have volunteers who will set up your signage. You can also take a prop that can be something that represents your business, like a camera or flowers or anything that may represent what you do.
I have attached the QR that has been updated and would love for everyone to fill out regardless if you are attending. This is LIMITED TO THE FIRST 75 in PERSON!!!
We also want to thank Bill at ATR Treehouse for providing our generator and playback for the Videos, Artistic Wedding Films for the Live Streaming, Derek at JDI Productions for the LED Video Setup, Luke Renchan Entertainment for the Sound System Setup. We also have to thank the Task Force Erica, Kate, Meagan, Kenneth & Faith for all their hard work and dedication!!
If you have questions, please reach out to any of us on the task force. We are here to help.
